This is a gorgeous, player grade 1950s Gibson ETG-150 that plays and sounds great!
For those not in the know, Gibson manufactured the ETG-150 between 1948 and 1971 as their standard electric tenor guitar, it is very similar to the popular ES-125 and has the same 16 1/4" body and aesthetic appointments - but only 4 strings! We are unable to date this model exactly as the internal label with the serial number is missing, and the pots have been swapped out for newer ones, however the headstock logo, lack of serial on the back of the headstock, and finish colouring are both typical of early to mid '50s examples. The original 4-pole P90 sounds fat but with excellent clarity and airiness. There are a couple of non original parts including the the tuners; which are genuine Kluson replacements with the correct white button as per the originals. A strap button has been added to the heel. While the bridge base is original, the saddle has been replaced with a compensated bone one, which is an improvement in our opinion!
We've set this one up in standard CGDA tuning but we are happy to change this to Chicago or Irish tuning on request of the buyer. Includes non-original hard case.
This is a really fun little tenor and a great piece of Gibson history!
