Here's a cool piece of history! This is a Leo Fender Signature G&L ASAT from 1990.

For those who aren't familiar with G&L; the company was founded in 1979 by Leo Fender and George Fullerton, they aimed to continue the legacy they had started together 30 years prior, and continue to innovate and develop the electric guitar to meet the demands of modern players.

The ASAT Classic was Leo's final word on his original design, updating the classic with a number of small yet significant changes while staying true to the essence of the model. Made in Fullerton, California from 1990 and 1992, the ASAT Classic Signature was the last guitar to bare Leo's name before he passed away.

Features include a 2-piece select ash body, bi-cut maple neck, and Indian rosewood fretboard. Loaded with G&L MFD (Magnetic Field Design) pickups, the tone has the classic twang you expect but with unparalleled clarity and a more full-range frequency response than traditional single-coils. The whole guitar is finished in a lightly tinted gloss lacquer that shows off the gorgeous natural grain, and feels great to play. Leo Fender's signature is featured on the upper horn above the pickguard.

These earlier G&L guitars are starting to become collectable and can be easily recognised by their iconic black powder-coated 3-bolt neck plate.

Includes the original G&L USA hard shell case, manual and papers.
