Here’s a curiosity wrapped in an enigma.
Not too many details to offer on this rare British model from the early '50s, as the company closed in ‘57 and sadly there isn’t too much info available.
Although relatively rare at the time, Abbot Victor archtops were popular with jazz and Gypsy jazz players in Britain and the Music Master was their top of the line offering. A neck (possibly Japanese) was likely added in the 70’s, further complicating it’s genealogy.
What we do know, is that this is an amazing all solid carved archtop jazzer with flamed maple, tooled tail piece that plays like dream and has some serious mystery mojo.
