The PJD Carey Origin Pro is a UK-designed, Indonesian-built single-cut electric guitar, developed as part of PJD’s Origin Series to deliver the core design, materials, and tonal characteristics of their higher-end UK models at a more accessible price point.

Built with a solid mahogany body and a bound figured maple veneer top, the Carey Origin Pro combines a traditional tonewood foundation with a visually detailed, satin-finished construction. The use of mahogany contributes to a strong midrange response, while the maple veneer adds definition and articulation.

The neck is constructed from roasted maple and features a PJD Standard profile, paired with an Indian rosewood fingerboard. A 25.5″ scale length and 10″ radius provide a modern playing feel, while 22 medium frets offer consistent playability across the fretboard.

Equipped with a set of PJD Origin humbuckers, the Carey Origin Pro uses Alnico V magnets and enamel-coated wire construction. The bridge pickup is voiced with medium output for balance between clean and driven tones, while the neck pickup sits in a lower-output, vintage PAF-style range suited to clean and blues-focused playing.

Hardware includes a fixed hardtail bridge and locking tuners, supporting tuning stability and straightforward setup. The control layout consists of a master volume, master tone, and a three-way toggle switch.

Finished in a satin open-grain poly, the instrument maintains a consistent feel across the body and neck while highlighting the natural wood grain beneath the surface.

PJD Origin Humbuckers

The PJD Origin humbuckers are based on the design of PJD’s UK-made Standard humbuckers and are constructed using Alnico V magnets and enamel-coated wire.

The bridge pickup is voiced with medium output, providing balance between clean headroom and overdriven tones. The neck pickup sits within a vintage PAF-style output range, suited to lower-gain applications and clean articulation.

This configuration supports a wide usable range across clean, edge-of-breakup, and higher gain settings.
