Here is an ultra vibey vintage Fender Mustang from 1965!
The Mustang was Fender's premier student model, introduced in 1964 as an upgrade to the already popular Duo-Sonic model, with the same single coil pickups and 24" short scale, but featuring a newly designed "Dynamic Vibrato" system. Due to it's status as a student model, the Mustang has remained much more affordable than Fender's "professional" models from the 50s and 60s, but don't let that fool you into thinking these are any lesser in build quality!
The Mustang has become a symbol of underground and alternative music scenes, thanks to it's unique tone, looks and accessibility as a vintage Fender model. Whether you're wanting a road-worthy vintage guitar without spending a fortune, or you're already a vintage Fender aficionado, the Mustang has a lot to offer!
This example dates to November 1965, but has had a few changes in it's time - firstly being a historical refinish; the original colour was matched however, and the lacquer has started to age nicely! The Brazilian rosewood "slab" board has been refretted at some point too, but this is to be expected on such on old instrument, and there is plenty of life left in the current frets. The pickups and potentiometers are original but the pickup selection switches and output jack are new replacements. And lastly, the tuning machines have been replaced with correct era vintage white button "F" tuners - identical to the originals. While many people may not notice these changes; they do designate this guitar as player-grade - but all you will want to do is pick it up and play once you experience this 'stang's natural resonance and fantastic feeling neck!
Includes original hard shell case.
