Since the introduction in 2017, the Gold series from Cort has pushed a new level of quality and specification that wasn't available at the price point. The new Gold-OC6 was developed in order to meet the demand for a very high quality acoustic guitar from players who seek a smaller body size and nut width (43mm) along with a Fishman® Flex Blend built-in preamp.
The Aged to Vintage top, known as Torrefaction, treats the solid sitka spruce top to give it that big and open tone of a decades-old, highly-sought-after acoustic. This torrefaction process delivers amazing tone right out of the box.
All-solid construction is featured on this model. The premium grade solid Sitka spruce top is matched with solid mahogany for the back and sides giving a brilliant and clear high-end, warm and rich midrange, and a deep but tight low-end for a beautifully balanced sound. A Macassar ebony fingerboard sits on a maple and walnut reinforced neck. Ebony bridge pins, vintage gold tuners, hand rolled frets and Cort's UV finish (30% thinner than normal lacquers allowing the instrument to vibrate more freely) finishes off a great package.
For the electronics, the Fishman® Flex Blend System offers a wide range of sonic control along with a built-in tuner. Volume, Tone, Phase, Blend and Tuner functions are all available from three knobs and the tuner display. For a on stage musician, having clear access to all the controls is much more preferable than using invisible controls inside the soundhole, yet retains an elegance in the design with no big 'trapdoor' style preamp mounted on the side of the guitar.
An excellent high quality rigid padded gig bag is also included.
