Mozztronics MD-1 Mew Drive

A standard valve building block was called a Mu Amp (or SRPP). It is impractical to build this valve circuit into a pedal, so Mozztronics use JFET transistors (The JFET is a type of transistor that operates in a similar way to a vacuum tube) instead of tubes, and connect them in this Mu Amp configuration, then connect several of these Mu Amps in series for maximum gain. There are several pedals available based on this type of circuit, and while this one is similar (they are all based on this classic valve circuit after all), Mozztronics have added a few of their own tweaks that make a noticeable difference. PURR controls the amount of gain from the first stage, BASS, MID and TREBLE are a classic 3 knob tone stack as found in almost every valve amp. VOLUME adjusts the overall volume out of the pedal. 

At Mozztronics, the quality control is performed under the supervision of their 3 legged rescue cat. In honour of her penchant for scratching furniture (and as Mu sounds like MEW) they called this pedal the MEW DRIVE. This pedal is great on both guitar & bass.
