If you know, you know. Up for grabs is a stunning 1984 Tokai Goldstar Sound TST-60—a legendary example of Japanese craftsmanship from the celebrated "Lawsuit Era." In the early '80s, Tokai was arguably building better vintage-spec instruments than anyone else in the world; the TST-60 was their high-tier production model, designed to compete directly with the best Fender had to offer.
This guitar is a meticulous tribute to a 1962 Stratocaster, distinguished by its resonant two-piece alder body and authentic nitrocellulose lacquer finish. The slim-to-medium '60s "C" maple neck is paired with a dark, slab rosewood fretboard (7.25" radius) for a classic vintage feel. To capture that 1960s soul, it remains loaded with the original "V" stamped pickups, delivering the bell-like clarity and sweet top-end sparkle that made this era of Japanese lutherie legendary.
While the tuners were replaced by a previous owner, we have recently outfitted the bridge with a new saddle to ensure peak performance. It plays beautifully and resonates like only a 40-year-old nitro-finished guitar can.
Includes original vintage-style tweed hardshell case.
